2010 - Cautiously Optimistic About Direct Mail Circulation
We are a month into 2010 and direct marketers remain "cautiously optimistic" that the American consumer is going to recover and the economy will continue to gradually improve. Everyone is still worried about the job numbers but most concede the other indicators are trending positively. Despite the gloom and doom we continue to hear out of the postal crowd at CognitiveDATA we are seeing steady growth in our business. As rough as the start to 2009 was for all marketing service providers, Q4 2009 finished much stronger than we had anticipated and as we now have views into our clients direct marketing plans for 2010, we are seeing a general increase in direct mail circulation planned for 3 to 4%.
